Catch strain before a thin-budget team burns out

Engagement surveys, eNPS, and reviews at 50% off for registered charities and nonprofits, with anonymity that still holds on a small team.

$2 per person per month after the charity discount

Engagement surveys and eNPS with sector-neutral benchmarks

Anonymity thresholds that hold on a 20-person team

Reviews, 360s, and recognition included, not sold separately

Charity and nonprofit teams tend to find out about strain late. The workload is high, the budget is thin, people are doing two roles because there is no money for a third, and everyone is committed enough to keep going without complaining. That combination hides problems rather than surfacing them.

The scale of it is documented. In Breaking Point, a study of more than 350 leaders of organisations with income under £1m, Fair Collective found that 85% of small charity leaders in England had experienced poor mental health because of their role, with a fifth of those reporting severe impact. That research looked at leaders specifically, not staff as a whole, and if it is what leadership will admit to, it is worth knowing what the rest of the team would say if asked properly.

FeedbackPulse gives registered charities and nonprofits 50% off every paid plan. The Pro plan lists at $4 per person per month on annual billing, so a registered charity pays $2. It applies to the whole platform, not a reduced tier, and it does not expire after the first year. Apply through our support form.

What charities and nonprofits get

Employee engagement surveys built for a small charity team

Engagement surveys and eNPS run on a schedule with reminders handled for you, so the question gets asked even in the months when nobody has time to ask it. You get a trend rather than a snapshot, which is what tells you whether a rough quarter was a blip or the start of something.

Anonymity that holds on a small team

Responses stay hidden until at least three people reply. Small organisations are exactly where anonymity usually breaks down, and where people are most likely to soften what they say if they think it is traceable. The threshold is enforced by the platform, so it is not a promise a manager has to make personally. How the responses themselves are held is set out on our security page, which tends to be the part a trustee board asks about before a wellbeing survey goes out.

Benchmarks so a score means something

eNPS comes with industry benchmarks built in. A bare score tells a trustee board very little on its own. A score with context tells them whether to act.

One platform, not five line items

Performance and 360 reviews, peer feedback, and recognition are included rather than sold as separate modules. For an organisation that has to justify every subscription to a finance committee, one line on the budget is easier to defend than four.

The 50% charity and nonprofit discount

Half price on every paid plan, for as long as your organisation stays eligible. On annual billing that puts the Pro plan at $2 per person per month rather than $4, with no seat minimum and no annual spend floor to clear first. It is a discount on the full platform, not access to a reduced tier, and it does not expire after a first year.

Who qualifies. Registered charities, nonprofits, and NGOs. In practice that means an organisation registered with a recognised body: the Charity Commission for England and Wales, OSCR in Scotland, the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland, the ACNC in Australia, or 501(c)(3) status with the IRS in the United States. Equivalent registers elsewhere count too. What we are looking for is that the organisation is formally registered where it operates and that its work is charitable rather than commercial.

How to apply. Send a message through our support form with:

  • your organisation's name and where it is registered
  • your registration or charity number, if you have one
  • a link to your website
  • a few lines on what your organisation does

What happens next. A person reads it. We aim to reply within a couple of working days, and if something is unclear we will ask you about it rather than decline. Once approved, the discount goes on your account and stays there.

You do not need to apply before trying the product. The free plan covers up to 10 people and 5 surveys with no card, so you can run something real first and apply when you are ready to grow past it.

How charity and nonprofit software discounts usually work

Software discounts in this category come in four shapes, and it is worth knowing which one you are being offered before you compare two numbers that are not the same kind of number.

  • A straight percentage off list price. The simplest to compare, because what you see on the invoice is what you pay.
  • Eligibility checked by a third party. Some vendors route verification through services like TechSoup or Percent rather than reading applications themselves. That scales well, and it is slower if your organisation's structure is unusual enough to confuse a form.
  • Routed as a charitable donation. Rather than reducing the invoice, some vendors charge list price and donate a proportion back on a schedule. The support is real, but it is not a discount, and the accounting on your side is different.
  • Unpublished. "Contact us for nonprofit pricing" is common. It means you cannot compare offers without booking a sales call first.

Ours is the first kind. 50% off list, applied to the account, visible on the invoice, with no donation cycle to track and no time limit. A person on our team reads your application rather than a validation service, which is slower at scale and better if your organisation does not fit a standard box.

Honest scope, on purpose

Small organisations cannot afford to discover a limitation in month two, so here are ours.

  • We are not an HRIS. No payroll, no holiday booking, no employee records system. Most vendors ranking for charity HR software are HRIS or payroll platforms. We measure how people are doing and run your review cycles. If you need core HR admin, you need a different tool, possibly alongside this one.
  • Surveys go out by email and Slack. There is no SMS, WhatsApp, or paper option, and answers open in a browser rather than inside the message. Everyone you want to survey needs an email address, personal or work, which is worth checking before you count frontline and shop teams in.
  • No volunteer-specific features. You can survey volunteers, and they use a seat like anyone else, but there is no rota, shift, or volunteer-hours management.
  • Benchmarks cover eNPS only. Custom questions get you trends over time within your organisation, not an external comparison, because there is nothing honest to compare a bespoke question against.

Start with one team

Pick the team most likely to be struggling and run one survey. The free plan is enough to do that properly, and you will know within a cycle whether the answers tell you anything you did not already know.

When you are ready for the discount, send us the details. A person reads every application, we aim to reply within a couple of working days, and if anything is unclear we will ask you about it rather than decline.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the charity discount?

50% off every paid plan, for as long as you stay eligible. The Pro plan lists at $4 per person per month on annual billing, so a registered charity pays $2 per person per month, and there is no seat minimum. It applies to the whole platform rather than a stripped-down tier, so engagement surveys, eNPS, performance and 360 reviews, peer feedback, and recognition are all included.

Who qualifies for the discount?

Registered charities, nonprofits, and NGOs. We look at whether your organisation is formally registered in your country and whether its work is charitable rather than commercial. We read every application ourselves instead of running an automated check, so if your structure is unusual it is worth applying and explaining it.

How do I apply?

Send a message through our support form at feedbackpulse.com/support. Tell us your organisation name, where it is registered and its registration number if it has one, a link to your website, and a short description of what your organisation does. That is enough for us to make a decision in most cases.

How long does approval take, and what happens next?

We aim to answer within a couple of working days. If anything is unclear we will ask rather than reject. Once approved, the discount is applied to your account and you keep it while your organisation remains eligible.

Can we try it before applying for the discount?

Yes. The free plan covers up to 10 people and 5 active or scheduled surveys with no credit card, so you can run a real survey before any money is involved. Many organisations trial with one team first, then apply for the discount when they roll it out more widely.

Can we survey volunteers as well as paid staff?

You can survey anyone you add to the account, volunteers included, and they count toward your seat total the same way staff do. We do not have volunteer-specific features like shift or rota management, so if that is your main need a dedicated volunteer platform will serve you better.

Is it anonymous enough for a small team?

Results stay hidden until at least three people respond. On a small team that threshold is what makes honest answers possible, and it is not something an administrator can switch off to find out who said what.

Do charities and nonprofits get a discount on employee engagement software?

Often, but the offers are not directly comparable. Some vendors take a straight percentage off list price, some check eligibility through a third party like TechSoup or Percent, some charge full price and donate a proportion back instead of discounting the invoice, and some publish no number at all and ask you to book a call. FeedbackPulse takes 50% off list for registered charities and nonprofits, applied to the account and visible on the invoice, with no time limit and no donation cycle to track.

What should a small charity look for in an employee engagement survey tool?

Four things matter more than feature count at small scale. An anonymity threshold that hides results until enough people have answered, because on a 25-person team a named survey mostly collects politeness. Pricing without a seat minimum, so you are not paying for capacity you will never use. A schedule that runs without someone remembering to send it. And benchmarks, so a score means something to a trustee board rather than arriving as a bare number. Ask any vendor to show you the anonymity threshold specifically, since that is the part that determines whether the answers are worth reading.

How do people receive the survey, and does everyone need an email address?

Invitations and reminders go out by email, and as Slack direct messages too if you connect Slack. Everyone you survey needs an email address on the account, because Slack delivery is matched on it and email is the fallback for everyone. A personal address is fine. There is no SMS, WhatsApp, or paper option, and answers open in a browser rather than inside the message, so it is worth checking that frontline and shop teams can be reached that way before you count them in.
